Bus to Beach

During the summer holidays, we provide free buses to Cronulla Beach for young people and their parents/guardians to enjoy a fun day out!

In 2019, buses will operate on the following days:

Tuesday 15 January 2019Thursday 17 January 2019Tuesday 22 January 2019Thursday 24 January 2019​ Departure locations

Bus 1 and 2 will depart from the following pick up points:

9am - The Roundabout Youth Centre, Helen Street cnr Carlingford Road, Sefton9.15am - Greenacre Senior Citizen Centre, 202 Waterloo Road, Greenacre9.30am - 69 The Mall, Bankstown (on Paul Keating Park side, opposite Lincraft).

Bus 3  will depart from the following pick up points:

9am - Panania Railway Station, Panania on Weston Street side9.15am - Revesby Railway Station, Revesby on Blamey Street side9.30am - Padstow Railway Station, Padstow on Howard Road side.

Bus 4 will depart from the following pick up points:

9am - Belmore Youth Resource Centre, 3/38-40 Redman Parade, Belmore9.15am - Riverwood Community Centre, 151 Belmore Road North, Riverwood. 

Bus 5 will depart from the following pick up points:

9am - Ashbury Senior Citizens Centre, 66 Princess St, Ashbury9:15am - Council Customer Carpark, 17 Shakespeare St, Campsie

All buses depart Cronulla Beach at 3pm SHARP and return to the pick up points above.​ 

Bookings are not required. The program operates on a 'first come, first served' basis.

However, if you pre-register online before Friday 11 January, each passenger registered will receive a free BBQ and Drink voucher to be redeemed at Dunningham Park, North Cronulla between 11am-1pm on the day of your choice.

​​Learn to Surf program

As part of the Bus to Beach program, Council is also offering the opportunity for young people to learn how to surf!

Young people aged 12-24 can sign up at the low cost of $10. The program will run on Tuesday 22 January and includes:

quality coaching, demonstrations and drill progressions suitable for all skill levelsfree luncha fun and friendly envrinoment.

All participants must accompany Council staff on the bus to and from Cronulla Beach. Participants are required to meet at 69 The Mall, Bankstown at 9.10am for a 9.30am departure. 

Registration is essential and can be made online. ​Make sure to get in quick as places are limited!​

We do not provide any supervision on these outings.Council will not incur any responsibility or liability whatsoever for injury sustained to persons or damage/loss to property.We are not responsible for people who miss the bus and will not make alternative provisions for transport for them under any circumstances.
