On New Year's Eve the radio station, 7MIDfm 97.1, lost transmission due to an unknown fault. On New Year's Day a vital component was replaced and transmission resumed, although signal was breaking up at times.
Transmission was lost once again on Tuesday. The problem was a broken cable from the transmitter to the tower. This is a major problem and the station remains off air. Damage to other components is unknown at this stage.
We have arranged a temporary solution which will allow a resumption of service by FRIDAY AFTERNOON, but with a reduced coverage.
Restoration of full service could take several weeks.
