Road Closure: Toorak Road, Camberwell, 2 -12 January 2019

Significant tram works are being conducted by Yarra Trams along Toorak Road between Camberwell Road and Warrigal Road. This section of Toorak Road will be closed to through-traffic.

The works will run from 10pm on Wednesday 2 January 2019 until 5am on Saturday 12 January 2019.

The works involve the replacement of the Toorak Road tram tracks and this section of Toorak Road will be completely closed for the duration of the works.

A northern detour route around the Toorak Road work site has been provided via Trafalgar Road, Riversdale Road and Elgar Road. A southern detour route has been provided via Glen Iris Road, High Street and Warrigal Road.

Yarra Trams distributed a notification letter to properties within a 500m radius in early December 2018 and sent a further notification letter one week prior to commencement of works. Variable Message Boards (VMS) are in place to inform motorists of the closure and detour routes.

Local vehicle access to the Burwood Village and Hartwell shopping centres will be maintained via the nearby local road networks to the north and south of Toorak Road. Information boards are in place to notify motorists of this arrangement.

Council’s waste collection services will operate as normal.
