Australian superstar DJ duo Mashd N Kutcher will lead a stellar line-up of entertainment at Liverpool City Council’s huge annual Australia Day festivities.
The celebration returns to Woodward Park on 26 January, 5pm – 10pm, and will feature live entertainment for children and adults; amazing international cuisine; children’s activities; a My Kitchen Rules 10th Anniversary stall; carnival rides; and a spectacular firework display at 9pm.
“Once again, Council’s Australia Day festivities will be the place to be, with a huge line-up of entertainment in store for people from all walks of life to enjoy,” Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said.
“We are delighted to have Matt and Adam, who go by the stage name Mashd N Kutcher, on-board as our headline act for our colourful Australia Day celebration.”
The Brisbane-grown DJ duo are one of Australia’s top electronic exports, undertaking sold-out tours each year across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas, and are set to wow our Australia Day crowd with a stand-out energetic performance.
The popular musicians said they are looking forward to celebrating Australia Day in the great South West.
“We are ecstatic to be able to celebrate Australia Day in Liverpool and to bring some awesome, energetic music to the buzzing crowd,” Mashd N Kutcher said.
“Our musical background is in classical piano and drumming, so we can’t wait to show the people of Liverpool our love of music and how we try to defy what is considered ‘normal’ in electronic dance music.”
In addition to great entertainment, Mayor Waller said Council’s Australia Day event was a chance to celebrate the city’s diversity.
“Our city is historically rich in cultural diversity and our popular Australia Day event is a cherished celebration for thousands of people who have come to call Liverpool home,” Mayor Waller said.
“Australia Day is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate our city’s multicultural identity, and this diversity is proudly reflected in our entertainment line-up and the array of delicious food options that originated across the globe.
“This year, we’re also trialling a later event time so people can enjoy the fun, carnival atmosphere of our festivities while avoiding the heat of the day.
“We hope people attending our 2019 celebration, including our newest Liverpool-based Australian citizens, are able to create cherished memories with their loved ones. I encourage event-goers to share their pictures with us using the hashtag #AusDayLiverpool.”
