JANUARY 2019 UPDATE
ORIGINAL PROPOSAL
In December 2018, some residents received information about Council's proposal to store materials on a small section of Dashwood Gully Reserve for 12 months.
This was to assist Council to continue its ongoing operational activities while redeveloping its Conyngham Street Depot into a site containing a Men's Shed, Community Garden, Biodiversity Nursery and small Depot.
A letter from the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) was also sent to these residents, advising of Council's application for a licence to use Dashwood Gully Reserve.
The temporary storage facility was to be in place for a maximum of 12 months, commencing in early 2019.
UPDATE
Following community feedback on this proposal (in particular the timing and duration of the consultation process as well as the nature and location of the temporary facility), Council has decided to cancel the EPA licence application for Dashwood Gully Reserve and cancel the process to store materials on a small section of Dashwood Gully Reserve for 12 months at this point in time.
Council will now consider all options for the temporary storage of materials.
