Cooktown - have you seen this bird?! The Indian Myna has recently moved into the area. This non-native, invasive bird species is bad news - it crowds out native birds during breeding seasons, has been known to kill baby birds, can destroy fruit crops, and spreads mites causing allergies. SCYC and Cook Shire Council are teaming up to see if we can knock this infestation on the head early, so please get in touch if you see any birds!
