"The City of Ballarat welcomes the consultation VicRoads have initiated on the redesign of the key Sturt Street intersections to achieve safer outcomes. 

Sturt Street is a VicRoads highway and we welcome them engaging with the public about their specific design solution options. 

From a City of Ballarat perspective, our focus on a design-led city approach to achieve best possible urban design outcomes, along with the safety benefits, is our preference. 

We further welcome the advice VicRoads are forming a reference group in relation to cycle treatment for Sturt Street and and trust we will be engaged accordingly."
