Join in the game enjoyed by millions worldwide! Starting February 2 2019, Lithgow Library will be hosting an all ages chess club. Everyone is welcome, from beginner to champion.
Every Saturday from 2 February 2019 everyone is invited along to Lithgow Library to enjoy a morning of chess. Chess Club will run from 9.30am to 11.45am and multiple games can be played at a time, so no waiting! We welcome players of all skill levels, from beginner to champion and everyone in between. The club will be run by a volunteer who is keen to play, and teach new players about the game.
“The Lithgow Library is such a dynamic place to be,” said Mayor Ray Thompson. “They always have new and exciting programs that will appeal to people of all ages and interests.”
The Library will provide the chess sets for this free activity. A volunteer will be on hand to help those who have not played before and want to learn a new skill, or to help amateurs improve their knowledge of the game. All ages are welcome to come along to this new program, adult supervision is required for children under 8.
