Cire brings new life back to Chirnside's Community Hub
Yarra Ranges Council 10 Jan 2019

Kimberley Place will reopen its doors to the community under new management and a new name from mid January.

The centre will be rebranded as Chirnside Park Community Hub under the management of Cire Services, offering the same range of community programs that were being run prior to the centre closing under the former management of Kimberley Place Inc in December last year.

Chirnside Ward Councillor Richard Higgins said the reopening in mid January would mark a new beginning for the community hub.

“We are excited to have an organisation like Cire on board at the hub,” Cr Higgins said.

Cire has a proven track record in delivering quality services for the community, and has been well-established in the Yarra Ranges for a number of years.

“Council is confident Cire will bring new life back to the hub, ensuring the building continues to meet the needs of our local community.”

Cr Higgins acknowledged Cire’s efforts to get the community hub back up and running so quickly in the new year.

“Cire has worked hard to ensure existing programs can recommence at the centre, and will soon be engaging with the local community to explore ideas for other programs the community would also like to see provided,” he said.

Cire CEO Gus Seremetis said Cire Services was excited about the reopening of the centre.

“We are looking forward to working closely with everyone, in particular, the local community,” she said.

Planning to re-establish preschool at the hub is expected to commence later this year. Long day care will not be available.

Information for parents requiring immediate preschool or long-day care for their children is available on Council’s website, here.

Council’s Maternal and Child Health service will continue to run as normal at the Chirnside Park Community Hub.

The Chirnside Park Community Hub will be open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm,from mid January.
