The Bruthen community will notice some changes at the Bruthen Transfer Station after upgrades at the site were completed by East Gippsland Shire Council.
Work on the $115,235 project included road resealing and building an extra bin bay. New railing has been installed around the bin areas to improve safety.
Manager Waste and Resource Recovery Kartik Venkatraman said the work was part of council’s Waste Facilities and Disposal Strategy.
“We are working to upgrade all of our sites over time as part of the strategy.
"The work at Bruthen Transfer Station also ensures the site meets the needs of residents by increasing capacity and also meet new occupational health and safety requirements,” Mr Venkatraman said.
The project was completed in late December.
