Liverpool City Council and Western Sydney University’s Ideas 2170 series is back in 2019 with a panel of transport visionaries and urban planning thought leaders sharing their ideas on ‘The Future is (nearly) now: Transport in the 21st Century’.
Clare Gardiner-Barnes, Deputy Secretary Freight, Strategy and Planning at Transport for NSW will be joined by Dr Tim Williams, Australasia Cities Leader at Arup, Andrew Chapman, Director of Operations NSW at Australian Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Professor Donald McNeill of Western Sydney University.
Liverpool City Council CEO Kiersten Fishburn will be facilitating the panel discussion and members of the audience are invited to contribute during a Q&A session afterwards.
“There are many questions that I look forward to asking our panellists. Among them will be how advanced technologies can improve our transport systems and city planning,” Ms Fishburn said.
“Liverpool is joining smart cities across the globe in investigating how we can achieve a 30-minute city with unrivalled connectivity across innovative public transport, an airport and the latest generation of digital infrastructure.
“We are investigating a range of opportunities, including trackless tram technology, to support a Rapid Transit Corridor to Western Sydney Airport, Australia’s first ‘digital airport’.
“Great cities are built on great ideas, I look forward to attending this informed discussion. Thank you to Western Sydney University for partnering with Council to co-host Ideas 2170.”
