Burdekin Shire Council is seeking applications for an Accounts Payable Officer. The successful applicant will assist with the processing of creditor invoices for weekly, fortnightly and monthly payment runs. Other duties include ensuring GST compliance, reconciliation of purchase card transactions, attending to creditor enquiries and reconciling monthly statements.
This is a part time, job share position for a period of up to twelve months with the hours of work totalling 32 hours per fortnight. The hours of work are: –
Week 1 – 8am to 5pm – Monday and TuesdayWeek 2 – 8am to 5pm – Thursday and FridayThe Person
The successful applicant will possess the following attributes at a minimum:
Demonstrated high level of administrative and financial experience with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy of work.Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise own work to meet deadlines and achieve work outcomes.Demonstrated high level of both written and oral communication skills.Demonstrated skills and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and relevant financial systems.Demonstrated experience working and maintaining relationships and work output within a harmonious and productive team environment.Demonstrated experience in working with private, confidential and sensitive information.Applicants should familiarise themselves with the entire position description.
The applicable salary is to a ceiling of Level 3 ($31,683pa) with the commencing salary dependent upon the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
