A special kind of magic will rock thousands of Australia Day revellers at the City of Armadale Australia Day alcohol free event in Minnawarra Park on Saturday 26 January.
City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the City is looking forward to hosting this event once again.
“Australia Day celebrations are a popular item on the City of Armadale’s social calendar, and this year’s event promises to deliver a wonderful evening of live music, carnival rides, food vendors and children’s activities. There’s free face painting, roving entertainers, a Water Fun Zone with slides, Bubbleology and Together We Can community sports in Memorial Park throughout the day.
Following a full program of live music, Australia’s best Freddie Mercury Tribute performer, Thomas Crane, will perform after the fireworks at 8.30pm.
“Thomas was discovered after he made the finals on the television show Starstruck and Australia’s Got Talent. He has received critical acclaim and accolades everywhere he has toured, and I am sure he will be a popular drawcard especially following the success of the recent Bohemian Rhapsody movie.”
In the lead up to the big act a plethora of live entertainment, including local emerging and professional performances, will begin from 5.30pm on the Australia Day stage in Minnawarra Park. These include three local favourites; Mungart Yongah, The Struggling Kings and the Two Cent Professionals. Young local songwriter and performer Tobias will MC the live entertainment.
“I encourage all residents to bring their family and friends to join in with their community to experience this alcohol free event as a great evening out.
“Be sure to plan ahead, as there will be road closures in place. To find out more about road closures, how to get to the event or access the public transport schedule, please visit the Australia Day event via www.armadale.wa.gov.au,” added Mayor Zelones.
Australia Day in Armadale alcohol free will be held in Minnawarra and Memorial Parks, and surrounds from 5 to 9.30pm and includes a fireworks display commencing around 8.30pm.
For the safety of your furry friend and young children, dogs are not permitted at this event unless it is a service dog. For everyone’s safety sparklers will not be permitted.
