Wellington Shire Council and Wellington Primary Care Partnership are fully aware that many people across the Shire may be feeling the pinch, with rising everyday living costs. So, to ensure that people can still have fun and enjoy activities, they have joined forces to put together a guide that highlights many of the activities people can enjoy across the Shire that don’t cost a lot of money.

The ‘Wellington Low Cost/No Cost Activities Guide’ is available to everyone and includes information on a range of things to do or get involved with that are free, $10 or under, or over $10. These include camping, events and festivals, community activities, historical walks and walks of interest, libraries, town parks, markets and auctions, men’s sheds, neighbourhood houses and learning centres, Op shops, physical activities, sport, services and organisations, social meals, volunteering in Wellington and lots of other information.

Wellington Shire Council General Manager Community & Culture Glenys Butler says that this is a great resource for people living or visiting the Shire.

“It is amazing to see just what you can do around the Shire for little or no cost.”

The guide was produced in partnership with people from the Wellington Shire community and Community Services Organisations. Some of the photographs in the guide were contributed by residents of the Marley Street Hub, making this a real community partnership. An online copy of the guide is available on our RuralAccess page.

A hard copy can be collected at a number of outlets, please contact Council’s Community Wellbeing Administration Officer on 1300 366 344 for further information.
