School holiday activities at the Armidale Regional War Memorial Library get off to a tricky start in week two, when entertainer JD brings his magic show to the Children’s Library this Monday.

The Newcastle magician’s show features award-winning sleight of hand, a live rabbit and an array of tricks to marvel audiences of all ages.

The 40-minute performance begins at 10.30am.

Professional illustrator Danny Stanley returns to the library on Wednesday 23 January to offer two cartooning workshops.

The first session, from 10.30am to noon, will cover general cartooning styles for kids aged eight to 15.

Animation techniques will be explored during a three-hour workshop for participants aged 10 to 18, starting at 1pm.

Learn to tie-dye T-shirts using pens and markers during a one-hour workshop on Thursday 24 January.

Participants must be six years or over and can bring their own white T-shirt to decorate.

Bookings are essential for the tie-dye workshop, which begins at 11am, and the two cartooning sessions.

Unleash your inner engineer and enjoy a Lego play session on Friday 25 January from 11am to 1pm.
