Beaconsfield Hart Shaft Stabilisation CompleteCouncil received the Beaconsfield Hart Shaft Stabilisation Completion Report at the January Council Meeting, Tuesday 15th of January, 2019.
From the report: The shaft stabilisation project was successfully completed. Although many hurdles were encountered which significantly pushed out the completion date. While the risk of future settlement causing destabilisation of the above ground structures has been reduced to an insignificant level, some minor surface subsidence will occur over the coming years.
The condition of the above ground structures has been reinstated to once again enable access by the public to all areas that had public access prior to the shaft failure. Safety and risk to public accessing the structures has been reinstated to pre-failure levels.
Council has now received the Beaconsfield Hart Shaft Stabilisation Completion Report, which has been reviewed, by both Council staff and the project team. It is now appropriate that it be provided to Government and made available to the public.
