Founder of Aussie Health Girl, educator, health and wellbeing keynote speaker among many other distinguished titles, Australia Day Ambassador Mona Hecke will visit the region next week as part of Livingstone’s Australia Day celebrations.
Chair of the Australia Day Awards Committee Councillor Nigel Hutton expressed the committee’s excitement in welcoming Ms Hecke to our beautiful region.
“We are thrilled to host such a high achieving guest as Ms Hecke, and look forward to hearing her speak at the awards ceremony,” Cr Hutton said.
“Ms Hecke will share her story about her passion for educating, inspiring and motivating everyone to live a healthier life, with her career spanning over 20 years.”
Mona’s career in the public spotlight has covered many sectors including public relations and marketing executive, political candidate, community representative, author, business owner, naturopath and preventative health educator.
She is the current President for the Gold Coast Active and Healthy Alliance, a volunteer body delivering the country’s most comprehensive wellbeing program to the community.
The Australia Day Ambassador program sends high achieving Australians to over 300 community celebrations nationwide every Australia Day.
Ambassadors are past recipients of the Australian of the Year Awards, sportspeople, scientists, businesspeople, actors and community workers who provide inspiration and pride to Australia Day events and activities.
Cr Hutton said the Australia Day Ambassador program is an opportunity for all Australians, particularly those in regional areas, to meet and gain inspiration from Australian achievers who come from all walks of life.
“These great Australians bring their experiences and stories to local communities, adding another element to local celebrations. Australia Day Ambassadors are also given insight into the local traditions and attractions by the local communities they visit,” Cr Hutton said.
