Life Skills Workshops Return

The popular Life Skills Workshops for people over 40 years old who live and work in the City of Armadale will return next month.

The first workshop for 2019, Rewarding Resumes, will be held on Tuesday 5 February from 5 to 6.30pm at Evelyn Gribble Community Centre, 140 Ninth Road in Hilbert.

The workshop will give attendees an overview on putting together a resume that gets them the job they want including strategies for updating their resume for the evolving workplace; an understanding of Selection Criteria’s and key words; what to include and what to leave out of their resume; and how to search for a job and set up a profile.”

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the workshops are aimed at increasing the skills and knowledge of older people and provides practical ways to improve personal organisation and gives practical information on a range of topics.

“Last year we hosted workshops on wills, power of attorney and other skills to increase attendee’s ability to organise their personal affairs, increase peace of mind and reduce stress which proved to be very popular.”

On Tuesday 5 March Get some ideas on how to be Emergency Ready, will be held from 5 to 6.30pm in the City of Armadale Function Room, 7 Orchard Avenue, and will help give attendees a better understanding of why they need identification, particularly in times of emergency. Those attending the workshop also have the opportunity to have their documents certified on the evening by an appointed Justice of the Peace.

Light refreshments will be served at both workshops from 4.30pm.
