Open Studios 2019 – Expressions of Interest Invited
City of Rockingham 21 Jan 2019

As part of the Open Studios – Art and Artists Exhibition 2019, six local artists will be given the opportunity to work in-residence at the Rockingham Arts Centre to engage with the community, display and sell their artwork in July and August 2019.

Two fortnightly residency blocks will be offered to three selected artists at a time. The first block will run from Wednesday 31 July to Sunday 11 August, with the second block  being held from Wednesday 28 August to Sunday 8 September.

During these dates artists will be present daily at the Rockingham Arts Centre from 10am–3pm, giving visitors the chance to interact with them directly.

Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged artists across the community to get involved in the exhibition.

“The City is home to many wonderful artists and the first ever Open Studios – Art and Artists Exhibition gives them the opportunity to showcase their talent,” Mayor Sammels said.

“Soft opening nights will be held on the first Friday of each residency block, with residents invited to engage with selected artists during a 20 minute collaborative artist talk.

“Guests will also be able to view the exhibition and potentially purchase selected artworks.”

Artists are encouraged to submit an online expression of interest in order to be considered for the exhibition.

For more information or to register an expression of interest visit the Open Studios webpage, call 9528 0333 or email the City on [email protected]

Expressions of interest close on Friday 5 April 2019 at 4pm.
