Council has today released its draft #SmartDarwin Strategy for comment. The strategy provides a blueprint for City of Darwin to be a digitally innovative council and contribute to establishing Darwin as a smart, liveable, productive and sustainable capital city.
The strategy will guide how City of Darwin collaborates with the community, business, all levels of government and key stakeholders to achieve the smart city vision.
“We are excited to have a strategy focused on smart technology and infrastructure to guide our investments and priorities going forward,” said Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis.
“The current Switching on Darwin project which is being delivered in partnership with the Northern Territory and Australian Governments is just the first phase of our focus on smart technology to create efficiencies in our service delivery and provide improved data analysis. The #SmartDarwin Strategy sets the framework for City of Darwin to keep working in this way beyond Switching on Darwin.”
City of Darwin is seeking feedback from the community and key stakeholder groups on the strategy in its draft form before it goes to Council for endorsement.
Lord Mayor, Kon Vatskalis said, “I encourage anyone with an interest in the future of Darwin to take the time to have a look at the #SmartDarwin Strategy and think through how technology can support the future development of our city. We welcome your feedback.”
Feedback can be provided through the Engage Darwin website until Monday 28 January: or via email: [email protected] or telephone 8930 0444.
