Australian filmmaker, film and television actor, director, producer and writer, Paul Fenech is Blacktown’s Australia Day Ambassador for 2019.

Best known for writing, directing, producing and starring in the television series Pizza, Paul will make an appearance and speak at the citizenship ceremony, Australia Day awards luncheon and ‘The Healing Feeling Gathering’.

Paul said he was excited to come to Western Sydney to celebrate Australia Day.

“I have spent a lot of time filming in Sydney’s West over the years and I always feel at home,” he said.

“My whole body of work is about multiculturalism and all my friends and family are from the four corners of the world, so it’ll be a family reunion on Australia Day.

“Australia Day is very important to me because my father and my grandfather were migrants.

“It’s a day that represents promise and opportunity of a great country. You can still find success here (in Australia) unlike other parts of the world, anyone can come here and be successful if they work hard,” enthused Paul.

Australia Day celebrations will kick off in Blacktown City from 7 am with the ‘Wake up with the Wildlife’ Breakfast at Featherdale Wildlife Park.
