Storytime and the Ten Minutes a Day literacy workshops at our local libraries have proved so popular with parents that Council has now brought in a new, monthly Baby Rhyme Time for the under 2s.
These free sessions will be held at 11am on the second Friday of each month at the Harry Bailey Memorial Library in Coffs Street starting from February 8 2019. There’s no need to book, just come along and join in the rhymes, song, dance and books fun.
“The feedback we’ve had for a long time from parents and carers who want to do the Ten Minutes a Day (TMD) workshops is that a drop-in version would be appreciated as it’s tricky to schedule and attend the four consecutive sessions of TMD,” said Catherine Turner, Council’s Library Operations and Programs Coordinator. “So I’m sure Baby Rhyme Time will be really popular.”
The sessions will be led by Council’s established Storytime team and the resources used will be available for borrowing.
Baby Rhyme Time Welcome Poem
For babies and toddlers, it’s not really fair. The big kids get books, songs and hulla balloo.
But now that nice Council has had an idea. How about Baby Rhyme Time for those under two?
Every month from now on, and as long as we’re here. There’ll be books, rhymes and fun for all of us too.
