The theme for Seniors Festival 2019, Love your life, encourages seniors to get out and about and develop new passions. With a full calendar of free and fun festival activities from 13 February to 1 March, there’s something for everyone!

You won’t want to miss Express Yourself- It’s Never Too Late, an Expo to help find your voice, explore new passions and get you started on something new! Whether it’s being creative, singing in a choir, writing your memoir or joining a cooking or gardening group, discover new ways to express yourself.

Learn the art of writing poetry with Mark Tredinnick, or come along to an author talk with Amal Awad who explores the challenges of ageing and illness from her own personal experience. Watch a screening of Piano Forte, which explores legal issues for older people and ask any burning questions to an expert panel.

Relax with tea and scones overlooking Manly Cove and then walk through the blockbuster exhibition Destination Sydney: Re-imagined at Manly Art Gallery & Museum with Museum Director Michael Hedger.

Other festival events include Booming: Ageing Well with author Marcus Riley who discusses how Australians can live well into older age. Meet Gardening Australia presenter Peter Rutherford who will introduce you to sustainable practices you can incorporate into your garden and everyday life.

There are a variety of other activities to pique your interest and a free, full-colour copy of the festival program is available at no charge from all Council offices or it’s free to download.
