Do you have ideas for improving the Bridge Mall and Bakery Hill area?

Why not consider being part of a working group to discuss future plans for the area.

The Bakery Hill and Bridge Mall precinct is considered the most significant entry point to the Ballarat CBD from the east, and in recognition of the importance of this precinct, the City of Ballarat is currently in the early stages of creating a plan which will guide and facilitate the transformation of the Bakery Hill precinct into a thriving, inclusive and sustainable city gateway and urban heart for Ballarat.

Last year the City of Ballarat launched an online survey, opening the community discussion up for suggestions on how best to transform the Bakery Hill and Bridge Mall precinct.

More than 140 people contributed to the first phase of consultation which aimed to determine what the community loves about this precinct, what it would like to see retained and what it would like to see re-imaged for the future.

Now moving into the next phase of the consultation process, the City of Ballarat is seeking to establish a Community Working Group.

We are looking for approximately 20 people from a diverse range of backgrounds to join the group and to discuss ideas and aspirations for the area.

The role of the Community Working Group is to:

To provide the project team with feedback on the preferred vision for the future of the precinct, and options for future development and change in the precinct To represent the community views on the ideas to be considered as part of the project.

It is intended the group will meet three times over the next six months.

Expressions of Interest will open at 9am on Thursday 24 January, closing Friday 22 February at 5pm.
