Good news – the reconstruction of the W L Simpson Reserve is on track. Improved irrigation and drainage has been installed and the new drought tolerant turf is being laid this week and will be completed by the end of January (as long as it is not too hot!).
In order to allow the turf to settle, the reserve will be unavailable for use until April 2019.
Council thanks the Hampton Junior Soccer Club, Hampton Central Cricket Club and local residents for their patience during the reconstruction.
The works form part of the Council’s Recreation Strategy 2013-2022, which seeks to enhance the quality of sports infrastructure to meet increased levels of participation.
