East Gippsland Shire Council will restart its Nicholson Street, Orbost streetscape project on Monday, February 4.
The project took a break during the peak holiday period to minimise disruption to businesses and shoppers.
There will be pedestrian restrictions around the work zone between the newspaper office and the Wolseley Street corner. There may also be parking restrictions in front of the area where the crew is working.
This Stage Two upgrade, worth $1.7 million, includes improvements to the footpaths, tree planting, retaining walls, and furniture.
The upgrade will enhance the rural character of the town centre and promote a safer and pedestrian-friendly street for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Local contractor J W Volk Pty Ltd is undertaking the project.
The project is funded by council as part of its capital works program and is expected to be finished this August.
