Due to a Severe Weather Warning and expected heavy rainfall tomorrow, Cairns Regional Council has cancelled its Australia Day event at Trinity Beach.
The event planned for the Cairns Esplanade has been moved to an indoor venue at Parramatta Park State School.
The event will include a free bacon and egg breakfast, kids' activities, backyard sports and a live broadcast from Hit FM with their Ultimate Ping Pong Challenge. Entry is via Minnie Street.
For full details and further updates, see the event listing or Council's Facebook page.
The Babinda and District Community Association’s Australia Day event has been moved to Munro Street due to the weather.
Both events are from 7am to 11am and are free to attend.
Cairns Regional Council apologises for any inconvenience and urges anyone attending the events to drive to conditions and follow any official advice relating to the Severe Weather Warning. If it’s flooded, forget it!
