Residents are in for a treat throughout 2019 with a wide variety of fun and entertaining programs, workshops and activities to suit all ages and interests at their local library.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said with hundreds of activities and events a year, Fairfield City Open Libraries has something for everyone.
“The 2019 events booklet has just hit the shelves at your local Open Library. Grab yourself a copy and start marking the events in your diary that interest you,” Mayor Carbone said.
“You can also easily search and book events online.”
Some of the events and workshops include:
Technology – Digital photography, augmented reality, virtual reality and film making. Business – Setting up a business, running a business, marketing, social media marketing, networking and grant applications. Adults – Oil painting, money and investing, flower arranging, robotics, make-up and skin care techniques, book groups and knitting groups. Children – Storytime, guitar lessons, science discovery, Lego, movies, robotics, craft activities, coding and web design. Youth – Gaming, Lego robotics, anime, dance workshops and youth week performances.“Our libraries are evolving from being storehouses of knowledge to becoming centres for creative activity for all residents,” Mayor Carbone said.
