LED dragon at Lunar New Year celebrations at Canley Vale.Lion dancers, fireworks and a 10 metre long LED dragon will usher in the Year of the Pig on Saturday 2 February in Canley Heights town centre.
The bright and colourful annual celebration is a must for locals and visitors, with Canley Heights coming alive for an evening street party, delicious food, live music, carnival rides and fireworks at 9pm.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said Lunar New Year celebrations will highlight everything Canley Heights has to offer.
“Canley Heights has emerged as a fantastic food destination and a very welcoming part of our City,” Mayor Carbone said.
“I invite everyone to come and join the celebrations at Canley Heights and wish each other a year full of good fortune and prosperity.”
The event is proudly supported by Fairfield City Council, the Canley Heights Business Community and Canley Heights Restaurant Committee.
Canley Heights Lunar New Year celebrations run Saturday 2 February 2019 from 4pm to 10pm.
Canley Vale Road, Canley Heights will be closed from Peel Street to Salisbury Street from 7.45pm to approximately 9.45pm. The road closure is a necessary step to keep residents safe so they can enjoy the event atmosphere.
The Canley Heights Lunar New Year celebrations are in addition to the Cabramatta celebrations to be held across Saturday and Sunday 16 and 17 February, hosted by Fairfield City Council in Cabramatta’s Freedom Plaza.
