Be prepared to laugh out loud when Over the Fence Comedy Film Festival returns to Yeppoon Town Hall on Friday, 15 February.

In its 21st edition of the touring the festival, each year audiences are treated to a pattern of subjects within each film that evolve into a theme.

This year’s theme, “Imperfect Worlds” explores the idea that not only does being “imperfect” make you human, it also highlights our hidden strengths – it is the reason why everyone is unique in their own way.

Some of the storylines include wanting to feed ducks illegally or even attempting to rob a bank in your senior years, highlighting that we all have our flaws and weaknesses, which can make for the most fantastic and strange situations in the imaginations of comedy filmmakers.

Grand examples also feature the heart-warming animation, ‘Bristled’ or the riveting, yet entertaining short, ‘Deep Storage’ – each of the 14 films are bizarre or crazy, but perfect just the way they are.

Library, Arts and Culture Councillor Pat Eastwood encouraged residents to come along for a night of laughter as Over the Fence takes audiences on a roller coaster ride through the intriguing films, portraying the imperfect worlds of human beings.

“It’s fantastic to host national touring companies like Over the Fence in our region, and we hope to see the community coming out to support this popular and entertaining event,” Cr Eastwood said.

The 2019 Over the Fence Comedy Film Festival will be held on 15 February, doors open and bar operating from 6pm, and screening begins at 7pm. The event is 15+. Anyone under 15 must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian.
