Bayside Gallery in Brighton opens two new exhibitions on 9 February featuring an impressive line-up of new and established local artists.
Bayside Local is a group exhibition that showcases the work of accomplished artists living in and around Bayside. A range of media, techniques and approaches to art-making demonstrates the creativity of local artists.
Target is a celebration of the skills and diversity of the art, design, textiles and media created by some of Bayside’s most talented 2018 VCE and IB graduates.
Schools included: Brighton Grammar, Brighton Secondary College, Firbank Grammar, Sandringham College, Star of the Sea College and St Leonard’s College.
Bayside City Council Mayor Cr Michael Heffernan said that these exhibitions provide a wonderful opportunity for Bayside’s artists to show their work in a public art gallery that responds to community needs and expectations.
“Bayside City Council is proud to support local artists and our young art students. We have a great exhibition program for 2019 and I’m excited that we are kicking it off with showing the work of artists who live right here in Bayside”, Cr Heffernan said.
Exhibition dates: 9 February to 24 March 2019
Exhibition opening: Saturday 9 February, 3-5pm at Bayside Gallery, Brighton Town Hall, Corner Carpenter and Wilson Streets, Brighton. All welcome.
