Are you new to business, or thinking of starting a small business?

Why not consider signing up for one of the free Australian Taxation Office (ATO) workshops taking place in Ballarat over the next month.

Small Ballarat businesses have an opportunity to hear from ATO staff who will be in Ballarat throughout February to assist business owners get the best start.

Registrations are now open for the following workshops:

Tax essentials for small business 1pm, Thursday 7 February Learn about business structures and their different rules, tax rates and obligations; tax and non-tax business registrations; allowable deductions, including motor vehicle deductions, depreciation and home-based business expenses; annual and quarterly reporting requirements; record keeping principles; where to go for help and information when you need it. Record keeping for small businesses (GST registered) 10am, Thursday 14 February During this introductory workshop you will learn how to keep records to claim all entitled deductions. Register online here

Record keeping for small businesses (Not GST registered)

10am, Thursday 21 February At this event you will have hands-on experience of recording money in and out of your business. You will also learn time-saving tips allowing you to focus on your business. Register online here  

Single touch payroll for small business 10am, Thursday 28 February Are you an employer, or are you thinking of hiring workers? Join  this one hour session to understand how your payroll tax and super reporting obligations, as an employer, have been streamlined, using Single Touch payroll. Register online here
