Free Green Waste Disposal

Free green waste will be accepted from Huon Valley residents at no cost at the Southbridge Waste Transfer Station only from tomorrow, Tuesday 5 February, until Monday, 11 February. Proof of residence in the Huon Valley is required.

Please note that opening hours may change at short notice due to smoke, fire hazards and road closures.

Green waste must be completely free of contaminants including:

general waste hazardous waste plastic declared weeds

Detection of contaminants may result in disposal fees. If you need help in identifying weeds, please contact Council on (03) 6264 0300. More information on declared weeds can be found on the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Wildlife and Environment on their website: Declared Weeds.

A limit of five cubic metres per household applies. Private and commercial collection operators will be required to pay standard rates.
