Cassowary Coast Regional Council has received approval from Queensland Health to lift the boil water alert for the Cardwell rural area (Kennedy, Carruchan and Ellerbeck).
Water to these areas is now coming from the bore. The alert was lifted quickly as Council was able to switch to this clean source with only minimal impact to the reticulation system.
Cardwell town was not impacted by the initial boil water alert.
