The Yarra Glen Art Show is calling all local artists to show off their creative talents over Labour Day weekend at the Yarra Glen Memorial Hall for the biennial exhibition, supported by Council.

The Art Show, which will run from 9 to 11 March, showcases the rich diversity of artistic practices throughout the Yarra Valley and beyond. Artists are encouraged to enter their work into the show before the closing date, 13 February.

The weekend will bring plenty of family fun with entertainment from stilt walkers and workshops for children to participate in and explore their own talents.

Yarra Glen Art Show Coordinator, Bronwyn Ward says the show has four prize categories on offer which recognise various types of artworks such as painting, photography, sculpture, textiles and metal works.

“We’re particularly looking forward to the Young Artist Award open to those between the ages of 15 and 25 years, which aims to elevate and celebrate the young artists living in the Yarra Ranges Council” Ms Ward said.

The Youth Artist Award along with other category winners will be announced during the show’s opening night on 8 March between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.

The Yarra Glen Art Show is awarded funding through Council’s annual Grants for Community program which aims to create a vibrant Yarra Ranges together.
