Kids and families are making the most of the summer heat with the regional pool parties.

Following last year’s success, Western Downs Regional Council has teamed up with Swimfit this year to provide pool party fun for all families across the region.

Council kicked off the parties in Miles on Australia Day and will continue to host them throughout the region until the end of February.

Families are encouraged to make the most of the event with pool entry just $2 per person.

Swimfit Manager Grant Belcher said that the pool parties are ideal for this time of year giving locals a great excuse to get out and make the most of the regional swimming pools.

“The Western Downs have some great facilities and it’s wonderful that we can work with Council to put on events like this,” he said.

“In previous years the pool parties have been popular, so we decided to put them on again this year, with more inflatables for everyone to enjoy.”

Councillor Ray Brown says that the pool parties are a great opportunity for locals to connect.

“We have excellent facilities and recreational spaces, making it a wonderful place to come together, relax and enjoy what our region has to offer,” he said.

“These pool parties are an easy and inexpensive way to provide fun for people of all ages, and to get locals more engaged with the community and amenities around them.”

Regional Pool Party dates are as follows:

– Miles – Saturday 26 January 10am-12pm

– Meandarra – Saturday 2 February 10am -12pm

– Dalby – Saturday 9 February 10am-12pm
