Burdekin Shire Council Mayor and Burdekin Shire Rivers Improvement Trust (BSRIT) Deputy Chair Lyn McLaughlin has encouraged residents to help document damage caused by recent flooding in the Haughton River.

“BSRIT is aware of multiple breaks in the Haughton River. As soon as floodwaters subside, BSRIT will investigate damage caused by the recent flooding,” Cr McLaughlin said.

“We thank the residents who have already phoned to report damage. We encourage residents to assist in documenting river breaks by taking photographs and emailing information to the secretary of BSRIT at along with your contact details and any other relevant information.”
