Cassowary Coast Regional Council libraries will be celebrating Library Lovers’ Day with events happening across all our branches next week.

And to prove that readers make better writers, the Australian Library and Information Association is running a 200 word Flash Fiction Story Competition. The story can be about anything, it just has to start with the writing prompt ”there was love to be found in the library…”  Entries close on February 21. Refer to your local library or the Council’s website www.cassowarycoast.qld.gov.au/libraries for terms and conditions.

The Library Lovers’ Day will last all week at Cassowary Coast libraries. Cardwell Library is celebrating with a Library Lovers Book Hunt and morning tea on Wednesday, February 13, from 10am.

Share the joy at Innisfail and Wongaling libraries by recommending a book you love to other readers via a postcard in the ‘Leave one, Take one’ suggestion box. At Innisfail you can also tag a favourite book for others by popping a bookmark into your beloved title.

Tully Library is hosting a free ‘Make your own crepe paper roses’ workshop and a morning tea and trivia event on Thursday, February 14, at 10.15am.

Show how much you love books and reading and your local library by attending your local Cassowary Coast library to help celebrate Library Lovers’ Day.

For more information visit your local library, phone 1300 366 616 or see the Library section on Council’s website.
