The 2019 bush fires in Tasmania are having a significant effect on the forest industry. Below is a description of the area of privately owned or managed forests effected by the fires as mapped by the Tasmanian Fire Service (TFS).

Please keep up-to-date with bushfires within your area by visiting the Tasmanian Fire Service or TasALERT websites and call 000 in an emergency.

Instructions for viewing burnt areas and fires Visit www.thelist.tas.gov.au – Select LISTMap – Select LAYERS from right hand side of screen, Click ADD LAYER, Scroll to EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, select INCIDENT FEEDS, and select the green + button to add FIRE BOUNDARIES FROM TFS WEBSITE. Close the pop up box and zoom to view areas affected.

Some boundaries could be over 48 hours old. Mapping from helicopters may not be accurate where smoke hides the actual fire edge. This can result in a reduction in area at some locations in later mapping where increased visibility occurs (you will note some reduction in areas in this report).
