Running from 6pm–10pm as part of the City’s Summer Series of free, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events, patrons will be able to enjoy the Perth Symphony Orchestra and special guests, conducted by Jessica Gethin, as they play a number of iconic pieces.
The audience at Romance on the Green will be treated to a series of orchestra classics, film tunes, rock hits and musical theatre anthems. There will also be a photo booth, giant games, and food and drink vendors at the event.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged residents of all ages to be a part of the audience.
"Since hosting the first Romance on the Green event in 2017, thousands of people have embraced the opportunity to witness the Perth Symphony Orchestra perform live," Mayor Sammels said.
"No matter what your musical tastes, the Perth Symphony Orchestra will deliver a range of tunes that are sure to delight.
"This year we can expect to hear renditions of classics including Barcelona, Fields of Gold, Great Southern Land, I Will Survive, Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’, The Prayer and I Still Call Australia Home."
Parking will be available at the carparks at the Gary Holland Community Centre and behind the Rockingham Museum, and at any other available parking in the vicinity.
Attendees are encouraged to utilise public transport, and as such, bus services on the 555 route will be extended until 10.30pm operating on their timetabled 15-minute frequency.
