Council crews will begin roadworks in Narooma later this month in preparation for Council’s annual road resealing program.
The pavement rehabilitation works on Bluewater Drive, Ballingalla Street and Willcocks Avenue will begin the week of 28 August, and weather permitting, are expected to be complete by mid-September.
Motorists are asked to obey signage and take care when driving in the vicinity of the works.
Repairs to the three roads signal the start of Council’s $1.7 million dollar annual reseal program, which will see more than 80 local roads and car parks resealed throughout the Eurobodalla in 2017-18.
Roads are resealed every 10 to 15 years to ensure they remain safe to drive on and to extend the life of the underlying road pavement. Council maintains almost 5 million square metres of bitumen seal on 589 kilometres of sealed local roads in the Eurobodalla.
Resealing involves an application of bitumen covered by a layer of aggregate. Each street takes less than a day to complete.
Council’s contractor will let residents know their street is being resealed by way of letterbox drop.
