Calling all artists; entries are now open for the City of Wanneroo’s prestigious Community Art Awards and Exhibition.

A highly-regarded annual event on the City of Wanneroo’s cultural calendar since its inception in 2001, the Community Art Awards and Exhibition showcases 230 artworks from the categories of painting, works on paper and sculpture, and offers artists the opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional setting.

Entries for all artists who reside in Western Australia opened on Monday 4 February. Entries close on Friday 5 April or when the cap of 230 artworks is reached, whichever comes first.

City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the Community Art Awards and Exhibition was very popular with City of Wanneroo residents, as evidenced by the record number of entries submitted by the local community – 96 of 230 artworks – in 2018.

“Every year I am inspired by the wonderful artworks submitted by local residents and the wider WA community,” Mayor Roberts said.

“This is an opportunity for art enthusiasts to demonstrate the depth and breadth of their talent.

The exhibition will be shown at The Gallery, Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre, from Saturday 4 May 2019 to Friday 14 June 2019.
