Cool local music to heat up free Summer Music Series Published: 11 February 2019

Stay cool this summer at Summer Music Series 2019 with local musicians playing tunes at the Emerald Lake Park Bandstand, from 12.30–3pm every Sunday in February.

Next up, Babaganoush performing Sunday 17 February!

Last weekend the Cardinia Civic Concert Band had toes tapping with music from a variety of genres and the Positive Music Drum Circles once again gave people a chance to dance along to their own beat.

Enjoy all the Summer Music Series 2019 has to offer:

Sunday 17 February: Babaganoush

Babaganoush play the best mix of Gypsy, Balkan Beats & Greek folk music. Their spicy melodies, hot rhythms and fiery vocals are mesmerizing. Their sound is sensuous and intoxicating, created by an exquisite combination of violin, clarinet, piano accordion, bass, percussion & bouzouki.

Great to dance to, they delight audiences everywhere. From the Spiegeltent to Europe’s liveliest bars to Australia’s best music festivals, Babaganoush have ventured the world music circuit in full swing.

Sunday 24 February: Rich Davies and The Low Road

Rich Davies and The Low Road will finish the series with a foot-stomping contemporary folk attack.

With a poet's heart and rocker's soul, Rich Davies & The Low Road deliver a “foot-stomping contemporary folk attack” (Mick Thomas). The Golden Guitar 2018 nominee has been hailed as “The Pogues meets Springsteen”.

Every Sunday in February: Drum circles by Positive Music

Positive Music brings drum circles to Summer Music Series once more with an array of fun and colourful traditional hand drums and small percussion instruments. People will get the opportunity to make their own music from 12.30–3pm at Emerald Lake Park close to the Bandstand. No experience necessary but enthusiasm is a must!
