Narooma Swimming Centre will soon have a fun new attraction for children to enjoy, with a new water-play splash pad currently under construction.
Eurobodalla Council commissioned Parkequip Waterplay to design and construct the new children’s area, which, when complete, will be available at no extra cost than the entry of the pool.
Eurobodalla Council’s recreation services manager Mark Upson said the splash pad is located outside to the north-east of the centre, overlooking Narooma inlet.
“The new splash pad will provide a fun and safe environment for young children to play while parents can grab a coffee and watch the kids splash around,” he said.
“It includes spurting water jets and a water-falling whale tail, and sun protection will be provided with a shade sail.
“Lifeguards have been receiving a lot of questions about the project and many families are looking forward to the splash pad opening.
“It adds another reason to come and visit Narooma’s wonderful indoor pool, which is open year-round and located just metres from the amazing waters of the Narooma inlet.”
The new splash pad is funded thanks to the Australian Government’s Community Development Grants program and is expected to be complete by the end of March.
