The Volunteer Recognition Celebration, which will be held on Thursday 23 May 2019 during National Volunteer Week, will focus on highlighting the fantastic work volunteers do across the City.
In the lead up to the event residents are able to nominate one dedicated volunteer from a not-for-profit organisation, community group or sporting club, who will be formally recognised and acknowledged at the celebration.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged residents to nominate a worthy volunteer that has made a difference in the community.
"Volunteers are one of the most important resources that a community can have and their generosity contributes towards creating a stronger City for everyone," Mayor Sammels said.
"As a City we are fortunate to have a large number of people willing to help out in a variety of different groups, clubs and not-for-profit organisations.
"The Volunteer Recognition Celebration is a fantastic chance to acknowledge the great work our volunteers do, so I urge people to nominate a person they feel has made a worthy contribution to the community."
Nominations opened on Friday 8 February and close on Friday 12 April 2019.
