Seniors Week events at the Lithgow Library this year will be a little different to previous years with the opportunity to learn a new skill, become aware of your legal rights or be entertained by our budding poets during a Poetry Slam.

Join our panel of lawyers and seniors rights experts on Tuesday 19 February between 10am and 12pm as they explore issues that older people and their families experience when planning for the future. Piano Forte presented by Legal Aid explores elder financial abuse, and will include a screening of the Piano Forte play, followed by a panel discussion and morning tea, with a chance to ask the panel members questions. This informative session is suitable for anyone planning their retirement financial future.

There are limited spaces available on Wednesday 20 February for a Telstra Tech Savvy Seniors introduction to computers class. The class will be held between 10am and 12pm and bookings are essential. You are welcome to bring your own device to this session.

A poetry slam event will be held on Thursday 21 February between 11am and 1pm followed by a light lunch.  Anyone can register to perform on the day alongside the poetry workshop group who are looking forward to presenting their poetry skills.  Audience participation is required as you will be the judges on the day. Winners of the senior’s art competition will also be announced at the poetry slam. Bookings are preferred for this event.

The digital exhibition Art of Aging will also be playing in the Lithgow Library between 13 and 25 February.

For more information on any of the events or to make a booking please contact the Lithgow Library on 6352 9100.
