Eagle Point boat ramp completed Thursday 14 February

Eagle Point residents and visitors are now able to use the new boat ramp to it full capability and enjoy boating and leisure activities on Lake King, with the floating pontoon added this week.

Mayor Cr Natalie O’Connell said the new boat ramp has a more user-friendly gradient and has been built closer to the existing timber jetty with a floating pontoon on the southern side of the ramp.

“The new floating jetty provides a consistent height between boats and the jetty despite changes in water levels,” Cr O’Connell said.

“The new facilities also include a beach launching area on the southern side that will be suitable for launching stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and small non-powered craft.”

Replacing the old boat ramp was identified in East Gippsland Shire Council’s draft Eagle Point Foreshore Management Plan.

Council received a Transport Safety Victoria grant of $179,200 towards the $233,000 project. Local firm Jarvis Norwood has delivered the project after being awarded the contract in October.

Works have been completed on the new Eagle Point Boat Ramp,

with the installation of the floating pontoon this week.
