The Be Ready Roadshow is coming next month. Parents with children starting school next year can get the information and advice they need to help their kids stride into school in 2020.

This year, the Be Ready team is coming to you. With evening events at the Narooma, Moruya and Batemans Bay libraries, each session gives parents an opportunity to chat with early-childhood health and development specialists.

Parents can talk with representatives from local schools, preschools and day-care centres during a meet-and-greet session from 6pm to 7pm. Then special guest, children’s technology and child development professional, Dr Kristy Goodwin will head a panel of experts to answer parents’ questions directly.

Occupational, behavioural and speech therapists have also been invited.

Council’s coordinator of children services Louise Hatton said the Be Ready Roadshow was an opportunity for parents to seek professional advice.

“Preparing children for school involves life-long decisions,” Ms Hatton said.

“We want to assist parents and help their child thrive, not merely survive, the transition to school.”

Ms Hatton said there would be a lucky-door-prize - a session with a local allied-health therapist – and crèche available, although spaces were limited and crèche bookings a essential.

The Be Ready Roadshow runs from 6pm to 8pm at the following locations:

Narooma Library, Wednesday 27 MarchBatemans Bay Library, Thursday 28 MarchMoruya Library, Friday 29 March
