South Durras boat ramp will be closed for five days from Monday 25 February while Eurobodalla Council continues its major upgrade of the facility.
Council crews will raise the level of the car park and boat ramp to improve access, as it is currently subject to flooding.
The parking area will be formalised and include new kerb and guttering, a new footpath, road surfacing and improved drainage. The design includes 19 parking spaces, including nine long parks and an accessible parking space.
The boat ramp is expected to reopen on Friday 1 March, weather permitting. Kayaks can continue to be launched during the construction period.
The car park is the final work in a three-stage project that has also included upgrading the boat ramp itself and constructing an accessible toilet block at the end of Lakeside Drive.
The $482,749 project is thanks to $225,000 funding from the NSW Government’s Boating Now program and Council funds.
