Residents may soon receive a phone call to participate in the annual Community Satisfaction Survey carried out by the Victorian Government.
The state-wide survey is being carried out by JWS Research and National Field Services on behalf of Local Government Victoria to gauge how residents think Council has performed across a variety of fields over the last 12 months.
Researchers will call a random selection of Baw Baw residents until they receive 400 valid responses. Surveying has now commenced and will run for approximately three weeks.
Performance measures assessed by the survey include:
Overall performance Community consultation and engagement Lobbying on behalf of the community Decisions made in the interest of the community Condition of sealed local roads in your area Customer service Overall Council directionThis survey is carried out across Victoria every year, with the majority of all Victorian Councils participating.
The researchers are complying with the guidelines of the Australian Communications and Media Authority, which state that they can call between 8.30am – 8.30pm on weekdays and 9.00am – 5.30pm on weekends. They may contact residents on the ‘do not call’ register as they are carrying out market research.
Results from each annual survey are published in Council’s Annual Report and online at www.bawbawshire.vic.gov.au/About-Council/Publications-and-Policies/Our-Performance/Community-Satisfaction-Survey
Quotes attributable to Mayor Cr Mikaela Power“This is a legitimate survey carried out around local government areas across the state. To ensure the researchers get a representative group of residents, they may ask to speak to someone in the household of a specific age or gender. Residents are encouraged to participate if contacted, however anyone who feels uncomfortable should feel free to decline.”
“This survey is a valuable tool in being able to assess year-on-year trends. Each year Council takes on board the community feedback which plays an important part in our forward planning. Survey results are used to better understand community needs and how we can improve delivery of infrastructure and services.”
